So now we're back to the drawing board, almost a year later.Hyundai Finance™ is a registered trademark of Hyundai Motor Company and is operated under licence by St.George Bank – A Division of Westpac Banking Corporation ABN 33 007 457 141 AFSL and Australian credit licence 233714. Last week we get denied by the DMV again, still showing Hyundai has a lien, apparently, the letter is useless for electronic releases. We call again, this time we get a typed and signed letter from Hyundai with a notary signature, we do the paperwork again, check, attach the letter, etc. We do the DMV paperwork again, complete with check thinking maybe they did it but didn't let us know. We call Hyundai, they say they'll do it, a few weeks later.nothing. Fast forward a few months, and I am shopping for a new vehicle myself, and casually ask the gf if she ever received her title in the event she ever wants a new one and she says 'No." We fill out the paperwork for our DMV complete with $2 check, and we get a notice that Hyundai never released the title. My State does electronic releases to our State DMV, which should be just a few mouse clicks.nothing. She paid it off back in Jan, and they never sent anything. We're having the same issue for my girlfriend's car. OP how did your situation resolve and did you ever email the titles department yourself? They refused to give me the email when I asked so I'm curious how you got that email. It always ends with "we're going to escalate this with our titles department and put you on highest priority." The worst part of it all is I sold the car already thinking it wouldn't take this long for the lien release to arrive. Every rep I've spoken to gives me different answers. The incompetence of their customer service department boggles my mind. Now they're processing another request which is going to take another 7-10 business days on top of however long it takes to mail it. Called again at the end of August and was told it was mailed but must have been "lost". Every time I called they would say it's still "processing". I called a month ago and was told it would be processed and mailed out by their titles department. I'm in a similar situation but it's for a lien release letter. It seems like a lot of other people are fighting for their property, too. I have filed a complaint with both the BBB and CFPB. Hyundai doesn’t care about their customers once they hand you off to Hyundai Motor Finance. I’ve opened a case with Hyundai, which is proving useless, they don’t care. I don’t have a title after over 3 months of waiting. But I spoke to the Lease Buyout team on the phone, who always claims Titles handles it, and forwards me to Support, who can‘t help.

One of them even gave me their email ( They forwarded my email to the Lease Buyout team ( and claimed that they DON’T handle it.

Strangely, they claim the Titles Department handles it, and that they only work on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Literally, their support team just tells you a scripted response to get you to hang up or go away (and if that doesn’t work they make something up). Another rep told me that rep was lying and that they have no record of it being sent. One rep even told me that the title was sent to me and then sent back to them with an invalid address. No one at HMF seems to know what the issue is. HMF support claims the payment and statement were received and continually reported that it would be sent out in 7-10 business days.Īfter never receiving the title, HMF continues to say they will “escalate” the issue, but to no avail, and no response ever sent back to me. I purchased my vehicle online at the end of my lease and sent in the odometer statement. I have been waiting for over three months now for Hyundai Motor Finance to release my title.
